Toronto Community Mikvah
(formerly known as the Reform Mikvah of Greater Toronto)

Professional Jewish educators affiliated with the Toronto Community Mikvah have developed an educational experience to introduce students in our congregations and in Jewish day schools to the Mikvah.

 

The experience, which takes place at the Mikvah, consists of several parts:

• Exploration of Jewish rituals through a survey

• Discussion of the symbolism on the walls of the Mikvah

• Analysis of reasons to go to the Mikvah through a card game

• Immersion in the Mikvah in bathing suits or symbolic immersion by

• standing on the top step of the Mikvah

 

It is directed towards two groups: pre-B’nei Mitzvah students or pre-Confirmation students. It is also appropriate for youth groups, Sisterhoods and adult B’nei Mitzvah classes.

 

Participating programs are strongly encouraged to have the Rabbi of the congregation or the head of the school to join the group for this experience.

 

Educational bookings should be made by contacting torontocommunitymikvah@ccrj.ca. The names of all participants must be received prior to the date of the program.

There is a $36 nominal fee for each group.
